For nearly 20 years, disability advocates from around Missouri have traveled to the State Capitol to participate in Disability Rights Legislative Day and have their voices heard. This year, even though we are still experiencing a pandemic, you can still participate in this important event at your comfort level: either in person or virtual.

The event will be held in person and virtually so people with disabilities, family members, and others can participate regardless of where they live in the state. The more people that participate, the more we can advocate for what's important to us and show the legislature that there is Power in Unity.
Missouri's Disability Rights Legislative Day - Power in Unity
Disability Rights Legislative Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2022. A rally will take place from 11 a.m. to noon and will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including various legislators, and some powerful disability advocates (check out drld.org for the most up-to-date list of speakers). After the rally, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., in-person participants can meet with their legislators.

As part of the Power in Unity theme, we will feature rally speakers focused on issues including Education, Employment First, Residential Provider and Care, Infrastructure and Voting. During the rally, legislators and advocates will cover these topics. When you meet with your legislators, you can talk about these topics or any other issues that impact your life each and every day.
